The Alpenlodge hotel is a very nice accommodation in Zermatt, known for its comfort nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This boutique hotel is characterized by its modern alpine design that harmoniously blends traditional Swiss architecture with contemporary elements. As you approach the Alpenlodge, you see the charming exterior, featuring a combination of natural stone and wood, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel is surrounded by breathtaking views of the iconic Matterhorn and the surrounding Alpine peaks, providing a stunning backdrop for your stay.

Although the Alpenlodge is listed as a 3-star hotel, I gave it 4 starts simply because I think the location is great (walking distance from the center of the village) and the comfort the hotel offered is as good or better than many 4-stars I've been to.

Room

The elegant furnished room was designed with a focus on comfort and style. The room was spacious, featuring large windows with panoramic views of the mountains. The decor is a tasteful mix of rustic charm and modern elegance, with wood-panelled walls, plush bedding, and state-of-the-art amenities.

The hotel's amenities a wellness area with a sauna, steam bath, and relaxation room. The hotel also features a cozy lounge area with a fireplace, that looks to be nice in the winter (we were there during the summer and preferred to sit outside).

Restaurant

The Alpenlodge restaurant serves a variety of local and international cuisine. I cannot judge as we went out for dinner.

Although the Alpenlodge is listed as a 3-star hotel, I gave it 4 starts and a very good 8.3 simply because I think the location is great (walking distance from the center of the village) and the comfort the hotel offered is as good or better than many 4-stars I've been to.
