Anne De Bretagne ***

Hotel Anne De Bretagne in Blois is located only 300 meter from Chateau de Blois and 800 meter from the Blois cathedral. It is a small simple boutique hotel perfectly located and with a very good price performance.

The rooms were what you expect for 72 euro’s per night. Good, simple and clean with a flat screen tv and a good shower.

The friendly staff provided us with a nice sauvignon blanc (just over 2 euro’s!!) and we already, from the terras could oversee the castle gardens. We had our dinner somewhere else that night at restaurant L’Hote Antique, one of the better restaurants in town.

When we arrived at the hotel, the friendly lady behind the reception desk gave us a tip to go to the light show that evening at Blois castle. The caste dates back to the 13th century and welcomes over 300.000 visitors each year.

What an amazing experience! The show started at 10PM and was telling the story of the castle from the very early days till today. If you plan to stay in the Blois are, hotel Anne de Bretagne and the light show are an ideal combination.

The next morning we had a good breakfast and visited the castle from the inside. So whenever in the Loire valley, visit Blois, the castle light show and stay at hotel Anne de Bretagne.

Anne De Bretagne is a 2-star hotel. The friendliness and location made it a 3-star for us.
