Brasserie Meat the Butcher ***

An interesting name: “Meat” the Butcher. No wonder because the restaurant is situated in the old butcher shop in the village of Beesd, next to the church and close to the A2, the main motorway (going from north to south). If you go there by car, take a tour along the river “Linge” and get a real taste of the Dutch landscaping.

As the name says, meat is the main thing here. Fresh grilled in the open kitchen the restaurant serves pork, lamb and beef. As you see more and more in Dutch restaurants, you can order pata negra, my favorite Spanish ham.

The value for money is good. What to think about a one kilo Tomahawk special or a dry aged black angus ribeye? The tournedos I had was excellent grilled and tasted great. As important, the served fresh vegetables with the meat. You can order your tournedos in different sizes.

Of course there are many other dishes they serve and for sure we come back.
