Country Hotel Cortijo Valverde ***

A great drive from Marbella to Malaga is the road to Ronda, a very old town with stunning views, and from there to Alora. It is there where we found the Cortijo Valverde. A small country style hotel with 5 nice cottages. Actually “found” is the wrong wording. The place is owned by a brother of the owner of the “Likkepot” in Rosmalen, the Netherlands.

The cortijo is a nice relaxed location and great for hikers, bikers and the people who love nature. If you are more a city and beach person. it is still worthwhile to stay there for a few nights to relax while making a city trip to Ronda.

Each of the cottages provide all the comfort you need including satellite television, a good coffee maker and more. The location is very quiet and it is a pleasure to be at the pool with good company, a good book and a nice bottle of chilled white wine.

The owner is also the chef. He loves to make every night special with one of his creation. The iced red cabbage a warn sauce and pata negra was an absolute topper. Great job, we will come back for that one!

If you look for a nice country style hotel some 40 minutes from Malaga airport, Cortijo Valverde is a great choice.
