"Fem Små Hus" is a historic restaurant located in the heart of Stockholm. Its name, which translates to "Five Small Houses," reflects its unique architectural layout, as it is situated within a series of interconnected 17th-century buildings in the Old Town (Gamla Stan) area of Stockholm.

The restaurant is renowned for its atmospheric ambiance, characterized by a blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The dining areas are spread across several levels in the buildings, each with its own distinctive decor and character. The interiors often feature vaulted ceilings, warm lighting, exposed brick walls, and archaic wooden beams, creating a cozy and intimate dining experience.

Food

I enjoyed a good dinner with duck breast with confit as starter, veal fillet "Anna Lindberg" with morel sauce as mains an apple cake with a vanilla sauce for desert. Especially the main was very good. We had Chardonnay and Bordeaux wines with our dinner.

From what my local partner explained, Fem Små Hus is known for its traditional Swedish cuisine. Signature dishes often include Swedish delicacies such as reindeer, elk, and seafood.

Wine

The restaurant is also known for its extensive wine list. The wine list of Fem små hus is also classically built and contains a vertical of Chateau Latour from Bordeaux. As with every Scandinavian country, also here wine is not cheap. You typical pat 50% or more for the same bottle compared to most European countries.

In summary, Fem Små Hus in Stockholm is a celebrated restaurant known for its historic setting within five interconnected 17th-century buildings, offering a unique atmosphere and traditional Swedish cuisine with a modern touch. Whenever in Stockholm, this is one of the places to visit. The rating is driven by the unique historic building, service and food quality combination.
