Hard Rock Hotel Marbella ****

The Hard Rock Hotel Marbella - Puerto Banús (the old H10 Andalucia Plaza) features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and terrace in the Marbella region. The property has a bar, as well as a restaurant serving international cuisine.

The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property. At the hotel, every room includes a wardrobe. Each room includes air conditioning and a safety deposit box. A very good buffet breakfast is available daily at the accommodation.

We stayed in the hotel many times because the location is top. This was the first time after it changed from H10 to Hard Rock. The first thing we noticed is that they took away the veranda on the outside of the main hall. This should have stayed, too bad!

Could have been better

The room (501) was smelly (sewage style smell from the shower). It could only be stopped placing a plastic bag with water on the sewage put in the shower. Looking at the reviews on booking.com more people has this experience.

Music started too early in the evening. Due to the storm, we could not land at Malaga airport. As such we flew into Almeria and arrived a day later at the hotel. Although I called the hotel we would be delayed with a day, on arrival, they said it was a now show (although we paid in advance). It took quite some effort to get a room in the end.

Casino

If you’re looking for an experience with a touch of excitement, you can also have fun in Marbella’s casino. The Marbella casino is located at the Hard Rock, and in addition to a wide variety of games of chance, it also has a restaurant.

Where to eat?

When you are ready for dinner, go out. There are so many places nearby, walking distance at the Puerto Banus harbour or a short cab drive into Marbella. Here are some suggestions. Just opposite the Hard Rock entrance you find Casa Italia, a good family restaurant. In Puerto Banus, one of the better places is Los Bandidos or if you take a cab to Marbella (10-15 minutes) the Los Naranjos is a nice restaurant at a great location.
