Het Oude Veerhuis ****

We've been visiting Het Oude Veerhuis a number of times. The location, the view, service and quality of the food are undoubtedly good. With a fantastic view over the River Meuse, it is nice to relax on the cozy terrace, especially in the summer.

I am not a fish lover myself, but Het Oude Veerhuis is mainly famous for its excellent fish specialties. Luckily for me, they also serve delicious meat and vegetarian dishes. Of course, it is always a treat to start with bread and spreads, in combination with a plate of pata negra.

The last time we went with friends, my wife had the Tuna Tataki whereas I enjoyed a great Pasta Tartufa (as a starter). I love to make a suggestion here and have this a s a true starter or main dish. For our mains, we had the sole and tournedos with a mushroom cream sauce. We ended our dinner with a nice desert (the trio of deserts we had the time before waw no longer available, a shame).

In addition to the restaurant and terrace, Het Oude Veerhuis has a nautical lounge bar. A wonderful atmosphere where you can have a nice drink and the fireplace is always burning. Restaurant Het Oude Veerhuis where guests can enjoy a relaxed meal
