We stayed at the Hotellerie Château Les Muids in July 2022 as a stop on our way to the Dordogne.
The château's, located in a 33-hectare park, origins back to around 1745. Initially a master's house and later developed into a 2000-hectare domain. It has a rich history, including ownership changes and notable guests like Emperor Napoléon III and Empress Eugénie. The property was transformed into a hotel-restaurant in 1983, with a focus on preserving its 19th-century charm and architecture while offering modern comfort.
The hotel provides a range of services and facilities, including a year-round restaurant, a bar, tea room, wellness area, fitness room. sauna, summer swimming pool, tennis court, mini-golf, and a health trail.
Room
Les Muids features 20 comfortable rooms. Our room was spacious, overlooking the backside country grounds. A comfortable bed, a large en-suite bathroom and mini-bar ensured we had a goo stay.
Restaurant
We had dinner outside given it wa a beautiful summer evening. The pressed foei gras with a red union confit and fuit bread toast was very good. The beef entrecot was good as well although I wasn't a big fan of the mashed patatoes and therefor had paid €5 extra for frites.
Hostellerie du Château Les Muids combines the elegance and history of a traditional château with modern amenities and a natural setting in the heart of Sologne.
