Hotel Interlaken is a historic hotel located in the heart of Interlaken, Switzerland, nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and surrounded by the majestic Swiss Alps.

As a peaceful place, the charm of our house also enchanted two famous musical celebrities: in the 19th century the English poet Lord Byron and later the German Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn found their muse here. In honour of these two personalities we named two rooms after them.

Today the former Klostertaverne belongs to the host family Beutler. With some renovations and a lot of passion, we tried to build a bridge between historical substance and modern comfort. On a tour through the historical dimensions, discover the remains of over 600 years of history and at the same time enjoy the comfort of a modern 4 star hotel.T

The hotel boasts a rich history dating back to the 14th century (it appears for the first time as guest house in 1323), making it one of the oldest hotels in the area. Over the years, it has been renovated and updated to offer modern amenities while still retaining its historic charm and elegance.

Room

Our room offered great views of the surrounding mountains. The interiors often blend traditional Swiss elements with contemporary touches, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. A good bedding, bathroom, TV and coffee maker were all there.

Guests can enjoy dining at the hotel's restaurant (closed on Sunday when we were there), which likely serves a mix of local Swiss cuisine and international dishes, made from fresh, local ingredients.

Hotel Interlaken is ideally situated if you like to explore the natural beauty of the Swiss Alps. It serves as a convenient base for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and mountain biking, as well as for exploring the charming town of Interlaken itself, known for its lovely streets, shops, and cafes.
