Hotel Karlwirt ****
Rating 8.8
One of the few things you can't predict is the weather. When we were in Tyrol in August 2021, the weather wasn't our friend. Especially during our stay at the Achensee it rained most of the time.
History
Hotel Karlwirt in Pertisau is a well known hotel with its roots dating back to 1794 when Rupprechter opened the cosy farmhouse with guest lounge. Even the crown prince and soon-to-be Emperor Franz Josef enjoyed a stay in room number 2 back in 1847. Many generations, a catastrophic fire, today, the 5th genaration Rupprechter family still offers an all-round laid-back holiday experience today.
Restaurant
The Annastüberl is where we had dinner and breakfast in a cosy, warm ambience. The breakfast buffet offered a large selection with homemade bread, pastries, freshly prepared egg, sausages from the local butcher, homemade and smoked speck bacon, ham, cheese specialities, fresh fruit and much more.
In the evening we enjoyed a few times dinner. Nice veal, fish and very good deserts to finish up with.
The bar area is very cosy and can be crowded in the late afternoon and evening. An enjoyable place to enjoy one of the loccal beers or a glass of wine.
I would characterize Hotel Karlwirt as a charming and appealing accommodation with attentive and helpful staff, contributing to the overall experience. We had a great hotel and we will be back to enjoy Karlwirt and to play the Achensee golf course all the way and enjoy the area when the sun is shining.
