The Hotel Sonne is nestled in the historic heart of Andermatt, whose leisure and sporting activities are all within easy reach. The hotel location in the charming alpine village is a great stop on your summer trip but as I can image also beautiful in the winter time. The surrounding area offers numerous recreational opportunities such as alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and hiking.

Room

The room was designed to provide comfort and relaxation and has various traditional alpine elements with modern amenities, ensuring a pleasant stay. The room offered great views of the surrounding mountains, adding to the alpine experience.

Restaurant

The old, well-kept hotel has a restaurant, which serves varied, seasonal dishes. Although I did not go for one of the special Swiss dishes, as most were with cheese, there was nothing wrong with the schnitzel.

The staff provided attention to detail, willingness to assist, enhancing the overall experience of the stay we had.

Location

Andermatt is situated in the heart of the Swiss Alps, making Hotel Sonne an ideal location for both summer and winter outdoor activities. In the winter, Andermatt is a popular skiing destination, with easy access to nearby ski slopes. During the summer, the area is known for hiking, biking, and stunning alpine scenery.

Overall the charm and location made it a good stay, ranked with 7.8.
