Lambert Hotel **

The Lambert Arms is a great place to stay if you want to visit Oxford. It takes approx. 15 minutes by care to downtown Oxford and it is worth the drive. I visited the hotel some two decades ago.

The place was recently refurbished and can match many other hotels with 3 and 4 stars (the Lambert Arms does not have any). It is a palce to relax, read in the bar and enjoy one of the great wines on the list. With 44 rooms it is a busy place and pre-booking is required if you want to have the guarantee for a room.

The rooms are all new and equipped with the latest like a plasma TV, free Wi-fi internet access are more. We had to eat in the bar one night because the restaurant was fully booked. The Lambert Arms also offers treatments from facials to massages, hot stone therapies and more.

In the meantime, looking at the hotel now, it seems it was bought by the Mercure hotel group. I am afraid it last some of its charme.
