Le Clos Cathala ***

The best way to describe Le Clos Cathala is an authentic French countryside experience with good food, a beautiful setting, and friendly staff.
The 17th century building Le Clos Cathala Chambres d'Hôtes resisted the passage of time and the seasonal climate, offering a spectacular view of the Massif de Tabe and the mountain reliefs of the highest Ariège peaks. You can feel the quietness of the area in middle of nature right away. Le Clos Cathala provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, garden and a terrace.
Rooms
The rooms have a wardrobe, desk and a coffee machine. Each room has a private bathroom with a bidet, free toiletries and a hairdryer. Guest rooms will provide guests with an old style interior. Despite the charm, there is a need for updating certain amenities. The bathrooms, in particular, need some modernization.
Restaurant
Géraldine Portoles is the chef of the restaurant Saint Paul’s table for 20 years. We had nice starters and a good main with tasty dessert to finish up with. After dinner we had coffee (at least I did) with Baily's to finish up with.
You can play billiards and tennis at the accommodation, and the area is popular for hiking and skiing. We paid €165 for the room for the two of us including breakfast in August.
Location
The hotel is located in Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat, 43 km from Col de la Crouzette, a good location to sleep when you are on your way to Andorra.
