Les Carmes & Spa *****

When we booked Les Carmes and Spa via booking.com we selected it because it looked gorgeous and the reviews were all great as well.

Located in Le Thor, just below the wonderful town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, it is an ideal stop on your way to the Rivièra, heading for Maxime, Frejus or Cannes for that matter. Actually I would say you should stay at least two days and spend one day visiting the town.

Les Carmes is owned by a very nice French and English speaking Belgian. Pascal takes care, welcomes you with a nice glass of wine, provides drink for all guests at the end of the day and serves a great breakfast. The house itself is wonderful. We had an amazing big room on the first floor. A large bathroom, an enormous master room separate seating areas and a welcome bottle of wine.

Outdoors, wonderful garden areas, lounge and relax. A perfect swimming pool and much more. Again if you ever are in the area, stay there for a few days! You won’t regret it. There is also a small, gym, a sauna and whirlpool in the garden area.

The only thing (Dutch… at least make some complaint).. nothing to eat during lunch time. Some smaller sandwiches would already do as recommendation. On the other hand, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is close by and has many good places for lunch or dinner, like café fleurs or La Renaissance, all in a great setting.
