The Bortoli Yarrah Valley Estate is on of the better wineries in Australia. I went there with a friend and if you are ever in the Melbourne area, take a drive to Yarra Valley and visit the Bortoli.

De Bortoli Winery not only make some premium wine’s but the restaurant upstairs make some of the best bread I’ve had the pleasure of eating. I had the pleasure to visit the winery by invitation of a friend, while on business.

Emeri De Bortoli is the heart and soul of our Yarra Valley Estate restaurant Locale. Her vision of a northern Italian-inspired trattoria with skillfully cooked, authentically Italian dishes made with fresh local produce continues to define what we do. It’s all about the De Bortoli family philosophy of sharing good food and wine with family and friends.

Home made pasta and authentically cooked risotto are menu constants while the sauces and ingredients that go with them change depending on the time of year. Bookings are essential. Lunch at the Bortoli is an absolute recommendation. The fresh flavors of the season “what I see is what I use” according to the chef, guarantee an interesting lunch you will enjoy. Especially accompanied by a glass of the Bortoli’s great white’s.
