Park Hotel Maximilian ***

The building itself look smashing and you feel very special if you drive up to the hotel and see the building. Wouw… do I stay here? Maximilian is an “ok” hotel if you want to stay in the center of Regensburg. The room we got was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was fine but nothing special. This must have been a superb place in the past but now, it lost its glory.

That said, I was very surprised there was no possibility to eat in the evening and the hotel had no bar. So you had to go out for both. As for our diner, I can only say that the Italian restaurant Locanda Botticelli in front of the hotel was very good and we enjoyed a great meal and the safe was very friendly. For sure not your average pizza place!

Update: from recent discovery, I saw the hotel has been renovated, So maybe worth a try. Also, the Botticelli restaurant is now closed.
