Radisson Blue Altstadt ****

If you visit Salzburg for a city trip, you want to stay in the Altstadt. There are not that many good hotels there but the Radisson Blu Altstadt for sure is one of them. Radisson Blu Hotel Altstadt is a historic building dating from 1377, located right in the Old Town of Salzburg and only a few steps away from all sights.

Given the location, you can walk around towards the castle, visit musea and much more. You never need your car and as such a great place to stay. The hotel had a good café area downstairs. The rooms are good but one thing that was a surprise was the bathroom floor. You could make an omelet on that one so hot and not adjustable.

The Symphonie restaurant offers Austrian and international dishes and views of the river and the Kapuzinerberg mountain. There are some good restaurants so selecting one, no problem.

Of course you need to cross the bridge and have a coffee at Hotel Sacher (another great place to stay for your city trip) and enjoy the unique Sacher Torte. We stayed there for 3 nights.
