Restaurant 45 could be located in the heart of Montreux, along the lakeside promenade or in one of the charming streets of the town. It is integrated in the Hotel Suisse Majestic.

Given Montreux's diverse cultural influences and access to fresh, local ingredients, Restaurant 45 offers a varied menu that reflects both traditional Swiss cuisine and international flavors.

We started with a pre-dinner 20-year old red Port wine. There was sediment (see picture) in our glasses but a discussion about this with the waiter did no go anywhere... "sir, this is normal for a port wine this old". The guy has something to learn! The sediment made the port cloudy. For now I leave it with a lesson for the waiter: read why decanting Port wine is key. If you serve a Port like this, it's not worth CHF 20.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of food you can select from the menu. Starters are typically between CHF 20 and 30 whereas the main can set you down CHF 50-70. As a started I had the terrine de foie gras de canard, a lovely started with union chutney and toast. Not cheap (CHF 32) like everything in Switzerland. My wife skipped the starter. We both enjoyed our main dishes.
