Rigat Park & Spa Hotel *****

The Rigat Hotel, officially known as the Hotel Rigat Park & Spa, has a rich history that spans over 150 years and multiple generations of the Rigat family. It began with Antonio Rigat and Lluisa Homs in Camprodón, where they established the Fonda Rigat & Café de los Pirineos in 1804. The business evolved through the generations, with significant contributions by Alfonso Rigat and Cecilia Regi, who opened the Fonda Rigat & Gran Hotel Rigat and later the Gran Hotel Rigat.

The Hotel Rigat Park in Lloret de Mar was established in 1956 by Luis Rigat Regi and his sons, Filippo and Luis Rigat Tortorici. This marked the beginning of the hotel's presence in Lloret de Mar. The hotel underwent an expansion in 1974 and later, in the period of 1991-92, was overseen by Felipe Rigat Casulleras, leading to further developments including the addition of a spa, suites, and a comprehensive renovation, culminating in the awarding of a fifth star in 2002.

The rooms

The hotel offer a variety of rooms from standard to larger suites. We had a nice Superior sea view room. Spacious and at the corner of the building at the seafront.

Restaurant

There are various places at the Rigat where you can lunch or have dinner. We had dinner on the terras as well as inside due to a heavy rainfall during one of the days. The food was a real treat with pata negra to start and smashing good beef with foie gras.

Relax at the swimming pool of on the beach

The swimming pool overlook the sea. Although the beach wasn't private, you have good service providing beach chairs and an umbrella for the shade. The swimming pool overlooking the Mediterranean was nice and the bar personnel at the pool friendly and enthusiastic.

Lloret de Mar is some 70 kilometers north of Barcelona where the closest airport is. While we were there, we also played the PGA Catalunya golf course. A drive but worth it.
