Shadow Valley ***

The Shadow Valley Golf Course, located in the Treasure Vally of Idaho is a nice golf course, some 20 minutes from Boise downtown. I like the text placed on the course website: "designed by Mother Nature and C. Edward Trout, they created a natural landscape that winds through the foothills." Trout, who moved to Boise before the second World War, would like to be remembered not as an architect but as a golf player. In Boise, he designed Shadow Valley and Eagle Hills.

I played Shadow Valley multiple times during my business trips to Boise. The were always colleagues like Bob and others who loved to play as well. The course is characterized by rolling fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and a variety of water hazards. The greens are well-maintained , offering smooth and fast surfaces of much higher speed as I am used to at home.

The second hole is the signature hole where an accurate approche is required to land the ball safely on the green covered by a creek in the front and at the back.

In addition to the golf course itself, Shadow Valley Golf Course is likely to offer a range of amenities including a pro shop stocked, practice range and a clubhouse to relax on hole 19.
