The Duke **** 8.6

Some places are good, others are better. That’s exactly what the van Eerd family (the owners of the Jumbo supermarkets) must have thought when they upgraded their private golf course, the Duke, adding 9 holes to make it now a full 18 and build a complete new clubhouse.

The new course is a fantastic play and it is really amazing how fast the new holes matured (only opened before the summer of 2015). Although the course is not that difficult to play, it can be tricky. At least, I did not played my handicap but that said more about me than about the course itself.

The food at The Duke is a top level. I think other will agree that they have probably one of the top 3 restaurants of any golf course in the Netherlands (and even in Europe this restaurant belongs in the top). If you are ever in the neighborhood, call them and you might get a tee-time.

Last but not least, the Duke also offer a private butler hotel experience. The Duke Suites is available on request and is a 5-star boutique hotel. A room will set you down between €250 an €500.
