Xaloc ****

When we were in Lloret de Mar on our holiday in 2022, we stayed in the Rigat hotel. A beautiful 5-star location on the beach. Walking toward the town, just five hundred meters from the hotel we walked into Xaloc where the flavors of the Mediterranean Sea "called us in".

What better way to start dinner with a nice bottle of Pago de los Capellanes (a Ribera del Duero) and toast with tomato and garlic with of course hand cut pata negra. As you can see from the pictures, the staff was very friendly. The second time we were there, we got one of the best table right away although it was crowded (the tip the first time must have helped as well).

The hand-cut steak tartare was very good as were the croquettes. The Girona beef tenderloin with foie gras was cooked to perfection.

The food was very good both times we were there. Everyone including the owner were attend and friendly. Whenever you are in Lloret de Mar, bring them a visit. I do suggest however you make a reservation first otherwise you might be disappointed. Not a fancy restaurant but easy going and good value for money. For us a 4.
